Peer Review Process
Journal of Maritime Defense Technology
All contributions submitted to the Journal of Maritime Defense Technology (JMDT) are subject to a double-blind peer review process. All received manuscripts will first undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine their suitability for the journal’s aims and scope, compliance with author guidelines, originality, ethical standards, and relevance to maritime defense technology.
Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening will be sent to one or more independent referees with expertise in relevant areas such as maritime defense, naval technology, maritime security, naval engineering, defense innovation, cybersecurity, autonomous systems, maritime strategy, or related interdisciplinary fields. Authors will be notified whether their manuscripts are accepted for publication, require revision, or are declined.
Authors whose manuscripts are accepted for further consideration will receive reviewer feedback indicating whether revisions are required or whether the manuscript is accepted as submitted. Authors requested to revise their manuscripts must submit the revised version within the deadline specified by the editor in the correspondence. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the reviewers for further evaluation before a final editorial decision is made.
All submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by any other journal, book, conference proceeding, or publication outlet at the time of submission.
