Journal of Maritime Defense Technology

Authors must prepare manuscripts in accordance with the official Journal of Maritime Defense Technology (JMDT) template. The manuscript should be set on A4 paper size. The title must be written in Garamond, 16 pt, bold, and centered. Author names should be written in Garamond, 12 pt, bold, and centered. Institutional affiliations must be written in Garamond, 12 pt and centered, while email addresses should be written in Garamond, 12 pt, italic, and centered.

The heading ABSTRACT must be written in Garamond, 12 pt, bold, and centered. The abstract text should use Garamond, 12 pt, with single spacing and justified alignment, and should not exceed 250 words. The abstract should briefly state the research background, objective, method, main findings, and contribution to maritime defense technology or maritime security studies. Authors may provide a maximum of 6 keywords, written in Garamond, 12 pt and separated by commas. Keywords should be written in lowercase, except for proper nouns, abbreviations, or technical terms.

All main headings and subheadings must be written in Garamond, 12 pt, bold, and left-aligned. The manuscript should be organized clearly and may include sections such as Introduction, Literature Review, Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgments, and References, depending on the article type. Authors should ensure that the structure of the manuscript is logical, coherent, and suitable for scholarly publication in maritime defense, naval technology, maritime security, defense innovation, or related interdisciplinary fields.

Figures and tables should be numbered consecutively and placed appropriately within the manuscript. Figure titles must be written in Garamond, 12 pt, bold, and centered, while the source note should be written in Garamond, 12 pt, italic, and left-aligned. The same formatting applies to table titles and source notes. Figures, tables, diagrams, maritime maps, technical illustrations, system models, and defense-related visuals must be clear, readable, properly labeled, and relevant to the discussion.

Equations must be presented in editable format and should be written using Cambria Math, 12 pt, italic, and centered. Equations should be numbered consecutively and referred to clearly in the text when necessary. Authors should ensure that all symbols, variables, formulas, and technical expressions are explained properly.

The reference list must appear under the heading REFERENCES at the end of the manuscript. References should use a hanging indent, with the first line flush left and subsequent lines indented by 0.5 inches. All entries must be arranged alphabetically by the first author’s surname and formatted according to APA 7th edition style. The reference list should be double-spaced.

Authors must ensure that all in-text citations correspond accurately to the reference list, and all references listed must be cited in the manuscript. Manuscripts should include at least 15 scholarly references, preferably from recent and reputable sources such as indexed journals, academic books, official defense documents, policy papers, and credible institutional reports.

Manuscripts related to maritime defense systems, naval operations, cybersecurity, surveillance technology, autonomous systems, maritime intelligence, or strategic defense studies must not disclose classified, restricted, confidential, or unauthorized defense-related information. Authors are responsible for ensuring that any data, images, maps, diagrams, or technical materials used in the manuscript comply with applicable ethical, institutional, and legal requirements.
